Vanessa wont talk to me. Its been three weeks now. She deleted all our pictures off her social media, deleted me from her BBM, and blocked me on Whatsapp. I've dialed her number more than a million times, I think maybe she blocked my number too. What in the world is wrong with this girl? How hard can it be to forget everything and move on? I don’t know what to do. I'm just confused. My phone rang. Its Tobi, my boyfriend. I pick it up. "Hi babe." I said. "Hello gorgeous, where you at? I'm in front of your hostel. You busy or what?" he asked. "Oh. You and your surprise visits. Okay just chill I'll be downstairs in a few." I said as I got dressed.
"Hey baby" I said as I got into Tobi's car. "Love of my life, how are you?" He asked me as we hugged and kissed. "I'm alright, just tryna read up that's all. You know my exams start next Monday." "Yes sure, I know that. All the best, darling. I'm sure you'll definitely murder those papers." He said, laughing. "Hmmmm I pray o. I just cant wait to write everything and sign out abeg I'm tired of UNILAG." I complained. "Its okay hon. You're almost there. Just 2weeks and you're done." He said as he stroked my hair. "I got you some provisions and other stuffs, for you and Sewa. They're in the boot." "Awwww thanks baby. I love you." I said as I kissed him on the lips. "Its okay. I just said I should come check on you, as I wont be seeing you for the next two weeks or thereabouts." "Awwww yes baby. You know I have to concentrate on my exams. Its just two weeks and I'll be free. You can have me all to yourself then" I said to cheer him up as he looked sad. "Okay babe I'll wait. Just make sure you try your best and read well, okay? You know I always want the best for you. " "Thanks my king." "Alright babe I have to get going now. Do you still have enough money to last you for the exams?" he asked me. "yes now haba you sent me money last week and I've not even finished spending it." "okay I'll still send you something this week. Reading can be really stressful and I don’t want my baby to lose weight. I don’t want you to disappear" he teased. "hmmm I hear you. Thanks papi." "Alright darling, take care okay?" he said and we kissed. I got out of the car and retrieved the packages from the boot. Tobi is such a darling. I thought to myself as I went into my hostel. I'm indeed lucky to have such a guy as my boyfriend. He treats me like a queen, he's never lost his temper with me neither has he done anything to hurt me. He shares all of his plans with me and he's absolutely honest with me. He gives me money and buys me things even when I don’t demand for it. What more can I ask for in a man? I've got all I want. I just hope it lasts forever. I was jolted back to reality by the sound of my phone ringing. It was a strange number. Who can this be? I wondered as I picked up. I waited to hear who it was. "Hey Romoke, how you been?" My heart skipped a beat as I heard the voice. I would recognize that voice anywhere. It was Vanessa!!!!! I struggled to find my voice. "Err hey Vanessa I'm okay how are ya?" I finally said. "I'm very well here. You refused to look for me. Is that how it is now?" she asked. "What's that supposed to mean? You literally blocked me out of your life since the last time we saw. I tried all I could to reach you, all to no avail." "Hmmm I'm sorry about that. My anger issues and all. You know how it is with me. I was real mad at you and I didn’t want to hear from you at all. But then, its real life. Anything can happen. You got yourself a boyfriend so what can I do? I just have to accept my fate and deal with it. We're cool, now. How's your boyfriend though?" she asked. "Well, he's fine. See Vanessa I really am very sorry please forgive me, okay? We can still be friends yeah?" "Common babe I don’t hold anything against you. I've forgiven you, why else would I be calling you? We're still friends. We'll always be friends, for life." She said cheerfully and I smiled. Thank God. "Awwww thanks dear." I said. "No problem ma. Okay so you're starting exams next week yeah?" "Yes, on Monday." I replied. "Okay shugz. All the best. We have a whole lot of catching up to do. We'll probably link up after your exams, how about that?" She asked me. "Yes sure. We'll definitely see after my exams. Thanks for calling dear." I said to her. "you're welcome darling. Now, take care, alright? Bye." she hung up.
Hmmm she sounds okay. I really hope she has moved on now. Should I see her after my exams? Is it safe? Mehn. Vanessa would never try to harm me. She might be a junkie, with all the drugs she's always taking and smoking and all, but then she wouldn’t hurt me. I want us to be friends, there's no harm in that. I picked my books and made my way to the reading room. Hope I get a place to sit.
