Happiness is not enough to describe how I feel right now. I just finished writing my last paper and we were signing out when I saw Tobi approaching the department. He looked really handsome, dressed in a tee-shirt and jeans. I had no clue he was coming and I didn’t understand why he came to my department. He came to me and we hugged. "hey you didn’t tell me you were coming here. How did you even find me sef?" I asked him. "Never mind about that. You know I love surprising you. Congratulations baby girl. I'm so proud of you." he said. "Awwww thanks darling." He let go of me and went down on one knee. I just looked on in surprise. My classmates were all staring by now. "you're the most amazing woman I ever met. I couldn’t have asked for a better partner. Will you come into my life and complete me forever? Will you marry me Romoke?" He said, holding out a diamond ring in its case. Omg. I was shocked beyond words. My hand went to my mouth and I felt a tear drop on my cheeks. I love this guy very much. He's the best thing that's ever happened to me. Why wont I marry him? I thought to myself. "Yes baby I'll marry you." I said in between tears. My classmates and everyone around cheered and he slipped the ring on my finger. I noticed a photographer was taking pictures with his camera. We embraced tightly. "I love you honey. You mean so much to me. Thank you for coming into my life. I'll love you forever till death do us part." he whispered into my ears. I couldn’t control the tears, they just kept flowing. "I love you too" I managed to say. He took my hands and led me to the car park just in front of the department. I instantly noticed the red Cross tour with ribbons on it. "Here's a gift from me to you baby. You deserve much more than this. I promise to always make you happy, all the days of my life." he said as he produced the car keys from his pocket. I couldn’t believe my eyes. I wanted to scream. A car? For me? Omg. I think I'm going to faint. I finally found my voice. "oh my God Tobi!!!!! Are you kidding me right now? You got me a car? Thank you baby this is such a pleasant surprise." I cried as fresh tears came to my eyes. I hugged and kissed him. By now, almost everyone was taking pictures and sounds of 'awwww' filled the air. They all clapped and clapped. They all came to congratulate me and check out the car. I felt like a celebrity as Tobi took my hands and led me into the car. "Come on, lets go for a drive." He got in and we drove off.

My proposal video was trending on IG. "I'm so happy for you Romoke. I knew you guys were gonna hit it off right from the start. "When is the wedding abeg I cant wait." Sewa gushed as she admired my ring. I smiled. "don’t worry now why you rushing?" I replied and she shrugged. "Ehen when are you starting your driving lessons?" she asked me. "I'm starting tomorrow." I answered. "Thank God. We'll paint the town red in your car." She said, sounding excited. "Ode. You don’t want to paint it green? Abi gold?" I teased. We both laughed and Sewa left for her room. I picked my phone on the bed and saw that I had three missed calls from Vanessa. I dialed her number. "Hey babe." I said as her voice came on the line. "Hi where did you drop your phone? Been calling." She said. "I'm sorry. I didn’t hear my phone ring. What's up? How are you?" I asked. "I'm alright. How you been?" "great dear." "Okay cool. You're now a graduate. Congratulations baby girl, and congrats on your engagement too. Saw the video and all" she said. "oh. Yeah. Thanks dear." "Hmmmm. So he got you a car yeah? He must be really rich ehn?" she said with a chuckle. "err. Yeah." I said, feeling uneasy. "Cool. Good for ya. Where you at? When can we hang out?" she asked. "I'm home now. I don’t know because I'm starting my driving lessons from tomorrow so I'll be real busy. But then I'd definitely find time to come check you real soon." I said. "Hmmmm okay. You know we have a whole lot to catch up on, or do you want me to come to your house? Just let me know when you'd be free. This one we're now begging to see you like this ehn. Nawa." "No now haba. Don’t worry, probably tomorrow after my lessons, we can see. I'll call you." "Okay then I'd be expecting your call. Take care." "okay bye." I said and the call dropped.
I'm not surprised she already knows about the proposal because she unblocked me on social media and then the pictures and video is everywhere online. Only God knows if she hasn’t followed Tobi on Instagram. She might already be in his DM sef. I haven't told Tobi anything about my past relationship with Vanessa. I wanted to tell him on different occasions but I couldn’t bring myself to talk about it. Vanessa might try to ruin my relationship with him. She can be crazy sometimes. Now I'm scared. I have to see Tobi ASAP. I don’t want him hearing about my past from Vanessa. I'll have to open up to him and tell him everything. But how do I start? What if he hates me and doesn’t want to talk to me anymore? What if he breaks off the engagement? My parents already approve of him. Even my mom that can be judgmental likes him a lot. I don’t want to lose Tobi. Not ever. I have to save my relationship. I'll tell him everything and let him know it was all in the past. He'll forgive me. I'll cry and beg him. He loves me, that I'm sure of, and he doesn’t want to lose me either. I pick up my phone and order Uber to Tobi's house. I texted him to let him know I'm coming over. I hope he listens to me.
